Who I Am

​​​​​​​​​​​DRR Woodworks was founded by Devin Raymond in Howell, MI

I’ve put years of hard work into designing and building custom pieces.  I’m more interested in the art of creating new and unique things than any one style or trend. Wood selection is of the utmost importance.  I tend to allow the materials to have a say as to what it's final state will be.

How it all started? I have to think back in time.  I don't recall when or where, (a magazine or website) but I saw a picture of a table that instantly stood out.

It looked like nothing I’d seen before and it flipped a switch inside me. I immediately knew I had to make it (keep in mind I had no experience of furniture making or anything in my background saying this was even a possibility).

Five attempts later and I was hooked.... really after seeing the picture I was committed. After lots of experiments and projects, today it's as much a part of me as my hands, feet and head.

Would I do anything else with my life? My answer is a firm "No".

In the end, I want to make furniture useful and also something you can't walk past.  It makes you have to stop and wonder... how... why.... and say to yourself "I want something made like that".  The desired outcome is a functional piece that stands out as a focal point.
